LAKES
There
are two private, deep
water lakes within Lake Wynonah which are regularly stocked and hold
several
species of fish including bass, trout, pike and walleye.
- LAKE WYNONAH - This lake is two and one-half miles long, is up to 90 feet deep and covers approximately 175 acres. Both motor powered and non-powered watercraft are permitted. Water skiing and other water sports are allowed, but since there are no designated swimming areas approved for public use, there are no lifeguards present at any time. There are two no fee boat launching sites; one at B-Dock and the other at the Marina. Several boat docking sites are available to rent on a yearly basis. Picnic facilities and in some areas playground equipment are located at each dock area. Additional access to Lake Wynonah is along the dam breast. A gas pump is located at the marina, where gas for boats can be purchased only while an attendant is on duty. The marina is open Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays only between Memorial Day and Labor Day weather permitting. Hours are set on a yearly basis. Check the flag--if it is up the attendant is on duty.
- FAWN LAKE - Fawn
Lake is also known
as the "little lake". It is 3/4 of a mile long, up to 45 feet deep and
covers approximately 27 acres. Only non-motor powered or electric motor
powered watercraft are permitted. Again, as in Lake Wynonah, since
there
are no designated swimming areas approved for public use, there are no
lifeguards present at any time. There is one no fee boat launch site on
Fawn Lake located at A-Dock. This dock area also has a pavilion, picnic
tables, horseshoes and playground equipment. This area is available on
a first come, first serve basis (the pavilion may be rented). Other
areas
for public access at Fawn Lake include lot 481, Sarsi Cove and the dam
breast.
GOVERNMENT
In
addition to ordinances
which are mandated by the two respective townships, Lake Wynonah is
governed
by its Deed Restrictions, By-Laws, Rules & Covenants and PA Act 180
which are upheld by a nine member Board of Directors. The members of
the
board are elected by the paid-up members of the Lake Wynonah Property
Owners'
Association (LWPOA), who have a direct say in the community's future.
SECURITY
A
full-time security force
provides services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All incoming
traffic
is monitored and surveillance rounds are continually made throughout
the
community on a random basis. The security office is located at the main
gate (west entrance) of the community and can be reached by phone at
(570)
739-4158. Should you be on vacation or be away for an extended period
of
time, contact the security office prior to your departure and you will
be placed on a list of "special attention" areas; as security officers
conduct their surveillance rounds, they will provide closer attention
for
anything suspicious at these properties.
LWPOA
OFFICE
OFFICE
The
Community Manager supervises
a full-time staff in the business office of the LWPOA, where all
records
are maintained, including those for accounting, membership, and
permits.
This is the place to come if you have any questions or concerns, if you
need any forms or applications or if you want to pay any outstanding
bills.
Office hours are listed in the "What's New" newsletter and the "Lake
Wynonah
Journal". The LWPOA Office may be contacted by phone (570)739-4055, by

the LWPOA Office is 406 Navajo Drive, Auburn, PA 17922.
FISHING
Fishing
is permitted from
all public access areas along both lakes and of course, from boats. All
fishing rules and regulations and licensing requirements of the
Pennsylvania
Fish Commission and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania apply, even if
fishing
from private property.
PICNIC
PAVILIONS
PAVILIONS
There
are two picnic pavilions
that may be rented by members for private parties. One is located at
A-Dock. There is a modest fee for renting a pavilion + security deposit which is
returned if the area is left clean and undamaged. The fee benefits
the
Fish Committee. The second pavilion is located at the Grove (near the lodge).
THE GROVE
The
Grove is the picnic/recreation
area located at the Lodge. The facilities include shuffleboard, two
basketball
courts, two horseshoe pits, volleyball and many items of playground
equipment.
This area may be used by members on a first come, first serve basis.
THE LODGE
The
Lodge is a popular gathering
place for members and their guests. It offers lounge and restaurant
areas
with a natural stone fireplace and dance floor. The bar area has a big
screen television, dart board and jukebox. Upstairs are pool tables and
ping pong. Many activities are held here including dances, parties,
bingo,
meetings, craft and bake sales, pool tournaments, art classes and
clubs.
Watch for information on the community entrance boards as well as this web site. The
Lodge
is available to members for rent for private parties if not in use for
association activities. Contact the LWPOA Office for information.
POOL
There
is a swimming pool
and childrens wading pool located behind the Lodge for membership use.
